Wedding Photography Directory launched their 2009 Annual Wedding Photography Contest. They have received over 3,000 photo entries. This was one of those weddings that seemed super hi-energy at the moment. Lots of members of the bridal party, more guests than I can keep track of, house full of helpful family members, etc. Cute kids running around. Lots of excitement. But somehow, in a quiet moment, the bride's beautiful, serene essence is captured. This was taken at the bride's parents' home, just minutes before we rushed to the church.

I took a series of shots while Susan changed into the traditional Indian dress for the reception. The flash didn't fire on this one. Mistake? I don't know. I really love the way this image turned out. Not at all what was planned. It's actually my favorite of the whole "changing dress" series.

Melissa & Ken were married at the beautiful Boback's Signature Events in Woodridge, IL.

The day started out a little damp. The sky looked a bit threatening. But as we got closer to the ceremony start time, the clouds began to turn from grey to a gorgeous blue. The sun came out and the weather gods held back the rain long enough for these two to have their lovely outdoor ceremony as planned.

Jason & Brandy were married at the Patrick Haley Mansion in Joliet. Everything was gorgeous. We had a blast taking photos at the Joliet Union Train Station and later ran over to the [now closed] Prison for some fun shots. These two were up for anything! Chicago's "Ambassador of Weddings", Frank Andonoplas of Frank Event Design played a huge role in pulling everything together for this fabulous event.
